The type Approval is based on design review and type testing or, where type testing is inappropriate, a design analysis.
The standard itself, EN ISO 7840, specifies general requirements and physical tests for fire-resistant hoses that convey petrol and diesel oil, designed for a working pressure not exceeding 0.34 Mpa, for hoses with a nominal bore up to and including 10 mm and 0.25 Mpa, and for hoses with a larger bore in craft of hull length up to 24m.
In particular, EN ISO 7840 applies to hoses for small craft with permanently installed fuel systems.
The hoses that have just been awarded Lloyds Register Type Approval include.
* Carburite, designed for the suction and delivery of mineral oils and fuels in road and rail tankers, service stations and refineries.
* Carbopress, designed for dispensing metered quantities of automotive fuels from dispensing equipment such as petrol pumps.
* Carbocord, for the delivery of oil and fuel with an aromatic content not exceeding 50%.
* SM/TR 311, designed and approved for use in water cooling exhaust gas systems and also as a fire resistant hose for craft.
* SM/TR 311 OND, a highly flexible version of SM/TR 311. Request a free brochure from Parker Hannifin ...
