Parker Hannifin, the world's largest manufacturer of motion and control technology, and Norson Services, Scotland's leading supplier of specialist hydraulics products, have formed a strategic alliance to create the biggest name in hydraulics across Aberdeen and the surrounding areas.

As the official distributor of Parker Hannifin Fluid Connector products throughout the North of Scotland, Norson has announced that it is to commemorate the distributorship with the opening of a new ParkerStore.

This strongly branded and clearly presented walk-in store will stock a fully comprehensive range of over 8,000 Parker hydraulic and pneumatic hose and fittings parts, catering for a wide range of customers from sectors including oil and gas, civil engineering, agriculture, research, processing, plant hire, transportation and maintenance, as well as offering an on-site hose assembly service carried out by the highly skilled staff.

The new ParkerStore represents a multi-million pound investment for the multi-disciplined services company.

Situated in the Altens area of Aberdeen, the new ParkerStore is opening up fresh employment opportunities within the region.

Indeed, Norson have already recruited nine new staff, while it is predicted that anticipated new business over the coming months will demand an expansion of the existing team by perhaps a further ten new employees.

"Being a certified Parker distributor will see us grow our hydraulic business by 50% in the next two years," explains Bill Bell, Managing Director of Norson, "We are now able to offer the complete range of Parker products, from the simplest fluid connectors through to the most complex of hydraulics systems.

In recent months we have become widely recognised for our pipeline, process and umbilical business, which continues to grow, particularly internationally.

However, we have always been a leader in hydraulics, supplying components as well as repairing, testing, designing and building systems in addition to offering laboratory facilities.

The recent developments in our collaboration with Parker underline our reputation in hydraulics and allows us to offer the proven Parker hose and connector products backed by our advanced technical knowledge and expertise".

A further element of the partnership means that Norson is now an approved provider of the Parker Hose Doctor service, providing Norson with a fleet of Hose Doctor branded vehicles.

This enables the company to provide a rapid response, on-site equipment repair and routine maintenance service to help customers maximise performance and avoid costly down-time.
