Fluoropolymer specialist Kenji Kingsford has joined Parker Hannifin Partek as R+D Manager, responsible for PTFE and PFA flow control solutions products
Kenji Kingsford has joined the Parker Hannifin Partek Operation as Research and Development Manager.
He takes overall responsibility for all product engineering at Partek - a leading vendor of PTFE and PFA flow control solutions for semiconductor and high purity processing.
With over 20 years' experience leading development teams in the engineered components industry, Kingsford brings a wealth of know-how to the role.
Fluoropolymer materials are a speciality, and Kingsford has many patents to his name in the area of fluoropolymer-based flow control components, and has won industry recognition for his work including two DuPont Plunkett Awards for innovative design.
"There's huge potential for innovation in this market, to support the demand for increased throughput, and the higher quality levels as defined by standards such as the SEMI F57-0301," says Kenji Kingsford.
"Partek has a reputation for operational excellence and is partner of choice for many of the world's leading high-purity processing equipment vendors.
My appointment is part of a major investment in new product development to exploit the opportunities for progress in this sector".
Kingsford will be based at the Partek manufacturing and development headquarters in Tucson, Arizona.
He joins Partek from Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics, where he was director of technology, a position he held following the acquisition of the high-performance polymer component manufacturer Furon, where he managed R and D.
Prior positions include Engineering Manager at Mace, one of the earliest manufacturers of engineered PTFE components.
He holds a BA degree from California State University, San Bernardino.
The Parker Hannifin Partek Operation designs and manufactures flow control products for use in fluid systems where corrosion protection is required or where media purity must be safeguarded.
The wetted surfaces of all products are of chemically inert, corrosion-resistant PFA (perfluororalkoxy) or PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene).
Products include valves, manifolds, fittings, pressure regulators, flow meters, pumps and spray guns, for use in semiconductor processing, and other high purity applications including chemical, food and pharmaceutical processing, and biomedical and analytical instrumentation.
