Water intake monitor protects against pesticides

A Process Measurement and Analysis product story
Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Nov 7, 2006

The 5 s::can researchers combined their diverse experiences from the fields of chemistry, water management, electronics and software, optics and mechanics, into one idea, the s::can process analyser

s::can was founded in 1998 by 5 researchers, who combined the essence of their most diverse experience from the fields of chemistry, water management, electronics and software, optics and mechanics, into one idea, the s::can process analyser.

The original motivation was an urgent practical need, an instrument for measuring multiple substance concentrations in process liquids with lab standard accuracy and long term stability.

Hence, the s::can innovation.

The s::can process analyser is a 2 beam lab quality spectrometer, scaled down to 40 mm diameter, assembled with the newest microelectronics and UV lamp technology - mostly proprietary s::can components - controlled by a radical new software package, all based on the experience of many years of field measuring work.

You will be surprised by the unit compactness, robustness, sensitivity, versatility and long time stability.

Plus:.

* full field / stand alone capability.

* full 4 - 20 mA and bus compatibility.

* TCP/IP + Internet.

* modem compatibility.

* software / calibration potential.

Represented in the UK by PMA the s:can analyser is finding significant application in alarm sensing on water intakes to protect against any low levels of contamniation, for example from pesticide or other pollutants.
