Their robust, seal-less design and special flexible liner within a tough thermoplastic construction, means they are suited to handling corrosive, viscous, abrasive liquids, or liquids with entrained air.
The pumps operate with a rotor which is mounted eccentrically on a shaft, this rotates within a flexible liner.
The liner forms the inner wall of a cylindrical chamber with the outer wall of this chamber being the pump body.
As the shaft rotates, the rotor distorts the liner, 'squeezing' the liquid through the pump.
This operating principle eliminates the need for sliding parts, minimising wear and tear and maintenance associated with other pump designs.
As only two components are in contact with the liquid, the pump is suitable for high purity chemicals and its gentle action makes it ideal for shear-sensitive products and chemicals such as photographic emulsions.
ASV pumps are available in two versions, type F, which has a capacity of 30 litres per minute and can be close coupled to an electric or air motor, while type L is suitable for mounting on a baseplate, with motor, coupling and guard.
The choice of materials for body and hose connections includes polypropylene, PVDF or PVC, while materials for liners include Nitrile, Viton, EPDM, Neoprene and Hypalon.
Competitively priced, ASV pumps have many applications in the OEM market for transfer or metering applications.
