Heater saves energy for brewing industry
The Pursuit Dynamics PDX Wort Heater provides a creative solution to maintaining the quality of beer while reducing energy demands
Pursuit Dynamics launched its high-performance PDX Wort Heater at the European Brewing Convention on 6th - 10th May 2007, where John Heathcote, Chief Executive Officer, made the following statement.
'The PDX Wort Heater is a highly efficient energy solution for the brewing industry; it delivers substantial energy savings of up to 50% at point of use and provides impressive results during the intensive wort boiling process without compromising on quality or flavour.
The key to the revolutionary device is the shockwave technology it harnesses, which delivers the high-performance results.
Furthermore, it is reliable, has no moving parts, can be cleaned in place and optimises process operations.
We are committed to delivering on-going, innovative energy and cost saving technologies which enable our customers to remain at the forefront of their industries.
The PDX Wort Heater represents a significant advancement in terms of energy and process efficiency for all brewing companies regardless of their size'.
Pursuit Dynamics has been in development with Molson Coors for three years resulting in its purchase of the first development system from Pursuit Dynamics recently.
Through its partnership with Coors, Pursuit Processing Equipment has proven that the PDX Wort Heater delivers large energy savings, enhanced volatile stripping, and increased process controllability, combined with the additional benefits of reduced process and cleaning times.
Commenting on the system, Steve Price, Director of Brewing Technology Molson Coors Brewing added: 'The PDX Wort Heater is the culmination of three years of co-operative development with Pursuit.
They share our passion for innovation and excelling in the beer business.
This unit provides a creative solution to maintaining the quality of beer while reducing energy demand which is good for Coors and good for the environment'.
Pursuit Processing Equipment has also announced that Shepherd Neame, Britain's oldest brewer, has placed an order for two PDX Wort Heaters.
The first of these will be installed at its Faversham site during July 2007.
