PDX Sonic has increased sauce production capacity
PDX Sonic equipment from Pursuit Processing has revolutionised sauce production at AAK Foods, enabling production of far more products per man hour through the effectiveness of the PDX
Since the purchase of the PDX Sonic, which has been designed to produce up to 3.6 tonnes per hour, AAK now have the option to increase its range of products and commercially review the potential of new sauce lines, according to their project manager, Jesper Skov.
AAK Foods, a leading manufacturer of tomato ketchup, brown sauce and other table sauces are owned by the Swedish Group, AarhusKarlshamn AB, global leaders in producing speciality vegetable oils and fats.
The bespoke PDX Sonic order has dramatically improved AAK Foods productivity; it will also reduce costs, deliver precise batch repeatability and has enabled the sauce manufacturer to enhance its product range.
AAK Foods is greatly anticipating the significant process efficiency and energy savings that the installation of the PDX Sonic delivers.
It was the impressive results produced in the trial stages which determined AAK Foods' decision to confirm the order with Pursuit Processing Equipment .
The PDX Sonics unique technology is a fluid processing solution that can homogenise, emulsify, entrain, heat, mix and pump simultaneously with impressive performance.
It can be used to effectively transport fluids with high solid content, entrain different materials, heat ingredients or blend recipes.
Another unique advantage to the PDX Sonic is that with no moving parts to clog or block, cleaning times are significantly reduced compared with conventional processing equipment.
Jesper Skov, Project Manager for AAK Foods commented "Pursuit Dynamics has been committed to providing a state-of-the-art sauce production system that fulfils our requirements.
Probably the most impressive aspect of the PDX is its ability to make chunky sauces.
During the trials stages, whole peppers and pieces of pineapple were added to the process and the finished result was very impressive with the peppers and pineapple maintaining a good 'crunchy' texture and overall good consistency.
The PDX ultimately offers good quality, reliability and flexibility with the ability to make a range of products.
As it is highly automated and controlled it produces the same quality result every time".
Skov continues, "The main benefits it will offer our business are improved productivity, which means that we have the ability to produce far more products per man hour through the effectiveness of the PDX.
Its ability to make a range of products opens a door for our product development team to be creative and inventive with new products.
This is very positive for the future.
We now also have the ability to produce a wide range of product on a single line".
Stephen Davies, Managing Director of Pursuit Processing Equipment said, "By working closely with AAK Foods, Pursuit Processing Equipment has optimised the PDX Sonic to provide even greater levels of efficiency and productivity, without affecting the quality of the AAK Foods finished products.
This achievement highlights the adaptability of the PDX Sonic and demonstrates our continued commitment to provide innovative, energy and cost saving technologies to our customers which will allow them to stay at the forefront of their industries".
