Compressed air flow switch

A PVL product story
Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Nov 28, 2007

The Honsberg flow switch Type MR1K has built-in piston damping and accurate compressed air volume control, and solved a recent problem on a paint spray application

To control the volume of compressed air reaching a spray painting gun, a customer had used a flow switch with no built-in damping of the piston in the switch.

The action of the compressed air caused damage to the magnet and piston and as a result the flow switches had to be frequently replaced: the supplier had no solution to the problem.

When Honsberg were approached, they recommended the flow switch Type MR1K, which has built-in piston damping and more accurate compressed air volume control, with a switching range from 40 - 130 NL/min.

As the spray gun is operated, the air compressor comes on line and the MR1K flow switch is able to accurately control the volume of compressed air, which is mixed with paint at the nozzle of the spray gun.

Precise control of the air/paint ratio is vital to optimum spray painting quality.

With the MR1K flow switch, downtime was eliminated and spray painting quality and productivity were increased.

All of which meant that the customer was very happy to have found the Honsberg flow switch.
