Quadrant Engineering Plastic Products will present an outstanding portfolio of solutions to meet performance challenges in offshore exploration and production applications, at OE2005 in September

Quadrant Engineering Plastic Products (EPP), global leader in the manufacture of rods, plates and tubes for machining as well as nylon custom castings and finished parts, will present an outstanding portfolio of solutions designed to meet performance challenges in offshore exploration and production applications.

Materials and parts targeting oil and gas field applications often must maintain high standards of performance despite exposure to extreme pressure, high temperatures and corrosive chemicals.

The Quadrant EPP broad selection of engineering plastics can help meet these challenges, and offer additional performance options including excellent wear resistance, electrical insulation and low weight.

In addition to its high-performance materials portfolio Quadrant EPP offers equipment manufacturers, machinists and other customers superb technical expertise and service to help them find the optimal material for their part design.

The Quadrant EPP selected highlights at OE 2005 include large commercial offshore components that deliver durable, light-weight performance.

For example: The industry's largest lightweight cable sheaves are made of wear-resistant Monocast polyamide, and are well suited for managing tethers, deploying submersibles, protecting umbilicals for launch and recovery applications.

Measuring up to 3,000 mm in diameter, Monocast cable sheaves weigh only about one-seventh as much as steel sheaves, lending greater stability and lifting power to cranes and hoisting machines.

Quadrant EPP cable sheaves resist corrosion and help steel cables last two to five times longer.

The largest track plates made for offshore applications are constructed from wear-resistant Nylatrack nylon.

Designed for use on sub-sea tractors that install power cables for offshore wind turbines, these track plates can weigh almost 60 tons when fully loaded.

Yet they can still support and propel tractors on the weak soil characteristic to wind farms.

Quadrant EPP casts its track plates from a specially modified nylon able to be fitted on various kinds of machines operating on all types of surfaces.

Quadrant EPP manufactures plates for the industry's biggest seals designed for valve, christmas tree and pump applications.

Constructed from Nylatron, Ertalon, Techtron and PEEK materials, these seals offer solutions for rigorous chemical and thermal resistance in the most aggressive environments.

Contributing to superb performance and lightweight manoeuvrability in survey vessels and remote operated vehicles, Quadrant EPP constructs the largest thruster ducts and stabiliser fins in the offshore industry.

Lastly, Quadrant EPP offers casting capabilities up to 1.6 tons, giving pipe-in-pipe spacer and bend restrictor projects real-time manufacturing capacities.

In addition to the high-performance materials already mentioned Quadrant EPP portfolio also include Torlon and Celazole used in particular for subsea connector applications.

Offshore Europe 2005 runs from September 6 through 9 at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre, Scotland.

Quadrant EPP will exhibit on stand 1249.
