A new WinLIMS rental scheme from Quality Systems International (QSI) brings full-functionality LIMS within the reach of every laboratory for a few hundred pounds a month - typically GBP265 per month for a 3-user system The only additional costs are a one-off QSI administration fee of GBP200, and if the alternative reporting package, the industry-leading Crystal Reports XI, is selected, there is a further one-off licence fee of GBP320

QSI have introduced new customer support services for WinLIMS Rental, which has proved to be particularly popular with smaller laboratories and businesses for where outright purchase is not viable
The system is designed to self-install and includes installation programmes, tutorials and interactive training aids (which do not require the use of precious client data) to virtually eliminate set-up costs.
The training aids do not require the use of customer data.
If no suitable SQL database is present on the user network, this is detected during installation and Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express is installed automatically.
Customers can cancel the rental at a month's notice, so the scheme provides an opportunity to evaluate and prove the benefits of LIMS without the usual long-term commitment.
The package also includes a 5-incident support package, and updates and "hot fixes" are automatically available for download.
The QSI support operation was highly rated by users in the 2005 LIMS Watch report, achieving the highest scores of all LIMS companies in the key areas of support, responsiveness and customer awareness, and the highest average score overall.
