Racine has modernised its RNL insertion-style liquid vortex flow meter line with updated electronics and an on-board display.

With these added features, the new addition to the Racine RNL series will be a more user-friendly product to measure flow.

Recently, Racine shipped a large order of the product to an Ohio-based municipal water treatment facility.

"The customer had proven the application using an older-generation product - the technology worked well, but we knew we could offer a more sophisticated package," said John Erskine, Racine Federated vice president and product manager.

"In the end we provided a meter with programmable software, 10-point linearisation, and diagnostic tools, all easily accessible through an external keypad".

The RNL meter is an insertion-style flow meter designed to offer high accuracy measurements in low-viscosity liquid applications.

The meter has no moving parts and is virtually maintenance-free.

It fits pipe sizes of 4'' and higher.

This series is DC-powered with 4-20 mA output and may also be configured for 3-wire frequency pulse output.

The RNL series is suitable for municipal water treatment, boiler feed water and condensate, cooling towers, pool and water parks, chemical processing, and ground water monitoring and irrigation systems.

Racine vortex flow meters utilise the smallest strut in the industry, which allows for high sensitivity, superior performance at low flow rates and low pressure drop.
