Protek to invest into the pharmaceutical
industry
The Protek company, a leading Russian pharmaceutical distributor, announces that it will invest $40m into medicines production, into its Sotex plant, located near Moscow
The Protek company, a leading Russian pharmaceutical distributor, announces that it will invest $40m into medicines production, into its Sotex plant, located near Moscow It is planned to introduce lines for the production of pills and ampoules at the plant, which is now packaging medicines of big foreign pharmaceutical companies, such as Sanofi-Aventis and Schering AG
In 1999, Protek launched this line for packing popular medicines.
In February 2003, the main rival of Protek, CIA International (Protek turn-over was USD 1.2bn in 2004, that of CIA International was USD 1.055bn) also announced plans to move into production, investing $10m into the construction of a plant in the Moscow region of Tushino.
However, the project is to be completed over a 7 year timescale.
