The first Read-out of 2005 in headlines
Circulated to around 2000 named Instrument, Control, and Automation professionals in Ireland, Read-out this month has reports on some US conferences, plus an outline of the E+H / Rockwell cooperation
Headlined in the first 2005 issue of Read-out, Ireland's journal of Instrumentation and Control, is the strategic co-operation between Endress and Hauser and Rockwell - which certainly strengthens the FDT/DTM school of thought! Praise is lavished on the new Manotherm website, which was launched towards the end of 2004.
The inside front is an interesting item on the monitoring of water supplied to vessels in the Port of Dover in England and which will be of interest to all installations where there is the possibility of Legionella infection.
This system is based on Eurotherm 5000B data recorders.
Reports on the ISA Ireland's conference in November, the US based ISA Expo, as well as the Emerson huge Global Users Exchange (both events in Texas in October), are also included.
In the people section is a report on the annual Instrumentation Honours and Awards ceremony in Cork at which a special award was presented to Maurice Radford in recognition of his unselfish service to the industry, not only in Ireland but throughout the world.
