The first issue of Read-out for 2007 features wireless stories, with an account of the launch of the Emerson European offering, plus how to monitor machinery by PDA, from National Instruments
The first issue of the Read-out magazine for 2007 highlights the issue of wireless in industry As well as headlining the launch of the Emerson wireless offering for Europe (headlined "Moving tectonic plates!"), the "Inside Front" article features Nora Tucker from National Instruments discussing machine monitoring applications using PDAs and wireless technology

No we aren't talking about trolley buses but about the revolution which according to an advert in the current issue of Read-out offers "limitless plant" - wireless and the ubiquitous fieldbus
However the main headline feature is the takeover of Irish project management company, Proscon, by Rockwell.
This story broke as this issue of Read-out was being prepared for the printers.
Other items reveal the marketing of the GE Fanuc range by PJ Boner now.
They were originally marketed through another GE company, but they did not have the focus on the automation disciplines that PJ Boner can offer.
Another interesting story is the co-operative deal between Emerson and Mtelligence, a Californian company, allowing effective integration of their Platweb, AMS and EAM systems with SAP, and the IBM Maximo.
This is of particular interest to Read-out readers because two of the principals running Mtelligence are from Ireland.
Also featured is a story on how the English company Hycontrol "struck oil in Ireland!" Actually the provided a tank level measurement and data management system to Maxol, the indigenous supplier of petroleum products in Ireland.
Also included is the usual people section with details of 'who's going where in the automation industry in Ireland' - and throughout the world.
New products are also featured as well as items on training and recent books.
Read-out is published six times a year and is circulated to around 2500 named Irish automation professionals.
