As an example of the ease of assembly, a measurement system comparing force and strain involves connecting as many strain gauges as required to RDP 628 strain gauge amplifier modules, setting the gauge factor and strain range, zeroing the output, connecting a PC via a 650 module (with a copy of RDP freeware downloaded and installedfrom the website) and taking the measurements.
When the load is applied, measurements are fed via the 628 strain gauge amplifier to the 650 module from where an RS232 output links to a PC for data collection and graphical display of force vs strain using Microsoft Excel.
