Discover a waste strategy that saves money, and protects the environment, at the Recycling and Waste Management Conference alongside the RWM Exhibition at the NEC from 16 to 18 September 2008

Following its successful debut in 2007, the RWM Conference will now run for three full days, bringing together over 40 of the industry's leading experts to thrash-out sustainable waste solutions and help delegates to make an informed choice for their business or community Addressing current concerns such as minimising construction waste, reducing carbon in the recycling process, generating value from food waste and integrating energy from waste technologies, the RWM Conference incorporates practical advice on solutions and legislation, with lively panel debates

Speakers include:.

DAY 1.

* Liz Parkes, Head of Waste at the Environment Agency, who will explore whether the UK's infrastructure can deliver a low to zero waste future.

* Mike Watson, Head of Construction at the Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP), who will talk about the new Construction Waste Commitments and embedding targets in corporate policy.

* Jackie Keaney, Vice President (Ireland) of Confederation of European Waste to Energy Plants (CEWEP), who will focus on the Waste Framework Directive and upcoming targets from Brussels that will hit local authorities and industry 2009.

DAY 2.

* Alan Davey, Innovations Director at Linpac, who will talk about eliminating bad plastic from the recycling supply chain, exploring how retailers can minimise plastic at source.

* Linda Crichton, Manager ROTATE at WRAP who will present different cost and participation models for diverting food waste from landfill.

* Laurence Singer, Corporate Responsibility Manager of Home Retail Group (Argos and Homebase), who will join a panel debate asking whether local authorities and retailers can co-ordinate a profitable and local solution to recycling on the high street.

DAY 3.

* Michael Chesshire, Managing Director at Greenfinch, who will address the subject of energy integration from waste strategies, touching on anaerobic digestion and its potential contribution to the UK energy supply.

* Professor Andreas Hornung, former head of the pyrolysis and gas treatment department at Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe Research Institute in Germany, who will talk about developing pyrolysis technologies for energy generation and mitigating climate change.

* An Vossen, Manager, Plarebel, who will present a case study on raising levels of plastic packaging recovery and recycling in Europe.
