A long-term relationship and a reputation for supplying quality equipment has secured Riggs Autopack its latest order from one of the UK's biggest suppliers of soups, sauces and recipe dishes

The client is Bar and Restaurant Foods, suppliers to the food service and manufacturing industries Riggs Autopack, a leading UK manufacturer of a range of depositing equipment since 1972, for the food, bakery, cosmetic, pharmaceutical and chemical sectors, has been supplying Bar and Restaurant Foods for over 14 years

The latest purchase from Riggs Autopack is a volumetric depositor which sits above a Rovema bag-making machine - the combination filling sauce sachets in a wide range of weights.

Bar and Restaurant Foods operations manager, Bill Beaumont, is delighted with the capabilities of the machine: ''Equipment from Riggs Autopack always works well.

We have been buying from them since 1993 and have never had any problems,'' he says.

Last year its Bar Foods deal was one of the larger ordersfor Riggs - for two eight-head depositors for use with a Multivac thermoform machine.

This latest acquisition gives Bar and Restaurant Foods a virtual full house of Riggs Autopack equipment.

Mr Beaumont says: ''We have bought fillers from other companies - and we still have a few - but generally we have replaced them with Riggs machines''.

Mr Beaumont said the reason he returned to Riggs was down to its impeccable service and quality of equipment: ''Whether it is their technology, their accuracy or their robustness, they cannot be beaten.

In our business it is all about forming relationships and we have one with Riggs which is second to none.

They understand the industry very well and obviously that helps''.

He feels the two enterprises have helped each other over the years.

''We have built up the best kind of partnership which in some instances has seen the pair of us developing concepts and machines together.

We really do regard Riggs Autopack very highly and we like to think the feeling is mutual,'' added Mr Beaumont.

Over at Riggs the sentiments are echoed by sales manager Bob Lumb who says: ''We have had a close working relationship with Bar Foods for many years now, providing the bulk of their depositors and filling machines.

We have worked closely on research and development with them to ensure we meet their needs to the letter and we are prepared to do the same for any of our customers''.
