Riggs Autopack , one of the UK's leading manufacturers of depositing and filling machines, has supplied a twin head depositor to Serious Soup, to equip a new production line

With its headquarters in Llantrisant in Mid-Glamorgan, Serious Soup, part of the Serious Food Company, and a supplier to the major supermarket chains, chose Riggs Autopack after their success at its sister company, Serious Desserts As well as being highly recommended by Serious Desserts, Riggs Autopack already has a glowing reputation for providing equipment with complete accuracy, helping companies maximise efficiency through increased automation

The equipment purchased, which includes a twin skinned product hopper, has lived up to its reputation: after being customised it is now depositing organic vegetable casserole into plastic ready meal pots at an approximate speed of up to 50 pots per minute with weights of 300g and 500g.

Serious Soup general manager, Peter Dunn is extremely pleased with the decision he made to go ahead with Riggs Autopack: "The increased autonomy that has come from the use of the equipment has allowed us to confidently extend our product range.

It is now also able to deposit meat casserole with little agitation to the product, successfully extending our product portfolio - the versatility of the equipment has allowed us to do this with no problems at all," he said.

The Riggs Autopack 1000 series of depositors are known and trusted by a widening group of customers for versatility and reliability.

They come in bench-top and floor standing models either semi-automatic, fully automatic or conveyorised and are both easy and affordable to set up.

These attributes coupled with ease of operation and a rapid cleaning in place and maintenance programme has helped make them the success they are.

Riggs Autopack sales manager Bob Lumb says the 1000 depositor is suitable for a broad range of applications.

''The 1000 volumetric units have been designed for accurate and efficient depositing, dispensing and filling.

We have helped numerous food companies with their needs and were happy to do the same for Serious Soup, particularly as the order came on the back of that for Serious Desserts''.

For its part, the soup and ready meals company is pleased with the results that it is having.

''The decision to chose Riggs was the correct one,'' said Mr Dunn: ''We are extremely happy with the way the equipment is working to its specific requirements.

Its accuracy is very good.

We will not hesitate to go back to Riggs for future needs and if we are asked to make recommendations to others, Riggs will be at the top of our list''.
