The Rittal CMC-TC uses a number of authorisation devices to dictate who and when access is provided to an electronics rack cabinet, on a rack by rack basis

The Rittal CMC-TC uses a number of authorisation devices to dictate who and when access is provided to an electronics rack cabinet, on a rack by rack basis.

At the heart of the system is an electromagnetic latching system that contains an identifier for automatic detection and set-up by the CMC-TC system.

With the door closed and the handle locked, switching on the lock magnet activates latching.

Deactivation is initiated when users identify themselves via a smart or magnetic swipe card, combination code or transponder.

It is also possible to deactivate the lock over a network connection.

In the event of an unauthorised access attempt, the system automatically raises the alarm audibly, visually, via the management GUI (graphical user interface) or via a text message to a mobile phone.
