Rocol to host open house event in Leeds

A Rocol Lubricants product story

Rocol Lubricants has announced that it is to hold an 'open house' event at its Leeds base.

The company is inviting engineers and production managers in the food and drinks industry to bring along any maintenance queries to see how they can be effectively addressed.

The event aims to give customers the chance to sit down with the Rocol technical team to look at how its NSF-registered food-grade lubricants can help their businesses.

Customers can see how the whole lubricant development process works in line with the highest global standards, from formulation in Rocol's laboratories through to manufacture and packaging.

Steve Chapman, managing director of Rocol Lubricants, said: 'Every year, food and drink processors in the UK and Ireland are faced with millions of pounds worth of unnecessary premature machinery failures, plus the potentially massive cost of production downtime.

'Often advanced lubricants or better lubrication management systems can provide solutions to help alleviate these losses providing the issues can be identified.' In 2006, the company worked closely with Nestle in York in the development of FoodLube Ultra to improve the lubrication of wrapping machines for the Kit-Kat product.

Maintenance managers at Nestle were keen to upgrade the process of greasing slides and cams on certain machines, as part of continuous improvement to make lubrication easier and reduce wastage.

Rocol was able to respond with a food-grade formulation to meet the brief.
