The IMDE 23 operates from +15 to 48 VDC, and is capable of step resolutions ranging from 0.5 steps to 256x microstepping.
Depending on its stack size, the IMDE 23 is capable of producing up to 294 oz-in of holding torque while its unique design adds less than one inch to the overall length of the body when compared to a standard RMS NEMA 23 step motor.
The IMDE 23 also features 4 damping modes for increased smooth motion and accuracy; optically isolated step, direction, and disable/enable inputs; and over-temperature protection.
The IMDE 23 has an on-board encoder capable of tracking from 32 to 1250 CPR, and includes 2 channel quadrature TTL squarewave single ended outputs with an optional index available.
The encoder also features position correction capabilities.
The IMDE 23 also features the RMS Technologies exclusive Pole Damping Technology (PDT).
PDT enhances a step motor performance by creating a more accurate and smooth motion profile.
PDT optimises the microstepping performance of the step motor by outputting the correct amount of run and hold current to the motor.
Thus, each step will overcome the motor's natural tendency to want to "jump" towards the full step ON position.
