RSView ME HMI software run from factory floor
Rockwell Automation introduces Rockwell Software RSView Machine Edition (ME), a powerful, PC-based HMI package for machine level or small process applications
Previously, users of non-Rockwell Automation hardware platforms have had to purchase third party cards and drivers separately to enable them to use RSView as a PC-based HMI solution.
Over 60 drivers, covering a wide range of third party OPC-based protocols, are available from Rockwell Automation for use with the full range of Rockwell Software HMI solutions, including the machine level RSViewME, the supervisory level RSViewSE and the general purpose RSView32.
All have been rigorously tested and, because they are fully supported by Rockwell Automation, they provide users with the confidence that they will work "out of the box", eliminating the time and risk involved in using other third party products.

How functional safety can help boost profits
The overall objective of functional safety is to protect workers by reducing incidents and to reduce risk of loss and costs associated with risk
Provided free with RSViewME, the drivers allow machine level HMI applications to communicate with a wide range of devices including PLCs, barcode readers, drives and weighscales.
The award-winning RSView family has long been a popular choice for monitoring and controlling automated machines and processes, but it has been perceived as suitable for use only with Allen-Bradley hardware.
The introduction of Rockwell Automation software drivers and cards now means RSView32 is a completely platform-independent HMI solution, enabling users of any automation hardware to take advantage of its many features and benefits.
Designed specifically for Microsoft Windows environments, RSView32 has led the market in the use of open technologies such as OPC (OLE for Process Control) and VBA (Visual Basic for Applications), and is able to share data with a range of databases and other applications.
RSView32 also provides a user-friendly design environment, reducing the time and cost required to generate HMI applications.
Applications developed in RSView Studio can also be shared across a range of hardware platforms from simple machine level HMIs to large-scale supervisory level systems.
A range of add-ons that are only offered as paid-for extras in other HMI packages are provided free with RSView32.
These include RSView32 Messenger for the annunciation and reporting of alarms, RSView32 SPC for statistical analysis of process data and RSLadder for displaying the ladder logic used in PLC programs. Request a free brochure from Rockwell Automation ...
