Dominic Molloy has been appointed to the position of Global Manufacturing Solutions (GMS) regional director for the UK and Ireland

Molloy will report directly to Mark Hardy, director, GMS Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and will be based in the Rockwell Automation UK headquarters in Kiln Farm, Milton Keynes "I am delighted to be taking over this important services-led business at a time of tremendous growth potential," says Molloy

"With its focus on helping manufacturers improve efficiency and returns on existing assets, demand for the GMS offer remains strong even when investment in greenfield manufacturing sites is relatively weak".

Molloy had previously managed Rockwell Automation UK end user sales team and prior to that held a variety of sales management positions in the UK and Europe after joining Rockwell Automation in 1988 as a sales engineer.

Molloy replaces Stuart Batchelor, who recently took over business management responsibility for both the Rockwell Automation GMS Manufacturing and Process Solutions business, and the Information Solutions business in EMEA.

"In his new role, Dominic will be an integral member of the UK management team working with Nick Fossey, regional sales director for UK and Ireland, to maximise the profitable growth of GMS," said Hardy.

Rockwell Automation GMS includes three core activities: Manufacturing and Process Solutions; Automation Software and Information Solutions; Support and Maintenance Services.

Together, these provide a full range of flexible, multi-vendor services, spanning asset management and maintenance to training and systems engineering services, all aimed at reducing our customer total cost of ownership.

The GMS division accounted for a third of Rockwell Automation's ?72 million turnover in the UK in 2001/02 and, with growth of 24% expected in the current year, services will represent half of the company's sales within two years.
