Nothing can stop new "no brake" drive
Rockwell introduces the Allen-Bradley Single Phase PowerFlex 4 AC drive - offering OEMs a cost-effective 'no brake' version of the popular drive without compromising flexibility or performance
Rockwell Automation introduces the Allen-Bradley Single Phase PowerFlex 4 AC drive - offering OEMs a cost-effective "no brake" version of the popular drive without compromising flexibility or performance.
The latest compact and low cost addition to the PowerFlex family provides users with an ideal solution for simple applications where there is no need for motor braking.
By removing the integral dynamic brake - an insulated-gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) - panel builders and OEMs pay only for the features they need while retaining all the benefits of the PowerFlex range.
With power ratings from 0.2 to 2.2 kW at 230 Volts, the drives provide cost-effective and accurate speed control for applications such as machine tools, fans, pumps, conveyors and material handling systems.
Ideal for installation in machines and control panels, the new Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 4 includes an integral keypad with a four-digit display, a local potentiometer and 10 LED indicators that show detailed drive information.
Its innovative Quick Start function also allows users to store 10 of the most common application parameters, making configuration easier and increasing start-up times.
Easy access to terminal blocks keeps wiring and installation simple, and an internal RS485 port allows the use of Allen-Bradley DriveExplorer and DriveExecutive software for easy programming, monitoring and troubleshooting.
The PowerFlex 4 uses advanced heatsink technology to reduce the footprint and it can be either DIN rail or panel mounted.
A Zero Stacking feature offers increased flexibility and saves valuable panel space as the drives can be tightly fitted side by side.
The new Microdrive meets all worldwide power ratings, packaging requirements and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) criteria and, like the rest of the Allen-Bradley PowerFlex range, is CSA/cUL Certified, UL-Listed, and CE-Marked.
By extending the PowerFlex range, Rockwell Automation has increased the options available to OEMs and Panel Builders, giving them the flexibility to specify a drive with the most appropriate features for an application.
The new "No brake" version of the popular PowerFlex 40 ensures that users will always have a cost effective solution, combined with the power and precision provided by Allen-Bradley products.
