Electronic line shaft drive for printing industry
A new electronic line shaft solution using standard Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 700S AC drives helps reduce press downtime allowing the printing industry to maximise automation investments
Designed to meet global OEM and end-user demands for space saving, cost efficiency and reliability, the PowerFlex 70, IP66 AC drives provide high-performance motor control in a compact, panel-mount package.
A choice of control, either variable frequency or sensorless vector, allows users to easily configure the drive for most application needs.
An active thermal manager helps recognise excessive overload conditions and automatically makes internal adjustments to compensate for temperature fluctuations.
This helps minimise drive overheating and reduces downtime.
The main control board on the drive includes built-in digital and analogue I/O for added application flexibility.
Standard 24V I/O includes six digital inputs, two relay inputs, two analogue inputs and one analogue output.
Users can integrate the PowerFlex 70 IP66 drive into the manufacturing process using DeviceNet, ControlNet, EtherNet IP, serial communications and other open control and communications networks.
A standard integral dynamic brake, in the form of a seventh insulated-gate bipolar transistor (IGBT), provides both internal and external dynamic braking resistors and requires no extra panel space.
Integral electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) filtering provides a compact, all-in-one package option for meeting EMC requirements, including CE approval.
With power ratings from 0.37 kW to 37 kW, the drives are ideal for most industrial applications including food and beverage, pulp and paper, pharmaceutical processing, machine tools and textiles.
With the introduction of the IP66 rated PowerFlex drive, Rockwell Automation has brought all the benefits of the PowerFlex family of drives to industries where an aggressive environment and regular washdowns are part of the manufacturing process. Request a free brochure from Rockwell Automation ...
