Rockwell to show solutions for beverage companies

A Rockwell Automation product story
Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Jul 3, 2009

Rockwell Automation will feature automation and information solutions to help beverage companies improve their manufacturing operations at Drinktec 2009 in Munich, Germany, on 14-19 September.

According to the company, which will be found in Hall A4, Booth 428, as retailers and consumers embrace sustainability, manufacturers feel the pressure with increased demands placed on their ability to respond.

With sustainable manufacturing becoming more and more important to beverage producers, there is a need for solutions that help maximise asset utilisation while reducing waste and rework.

Rockwell is developing relationships with key suppliers and broadening its own solution portfolio to help beverage manufacturers optimise production from process to packaging applications.

At the show, Rockwell will feature a mini working brewery, developed in conjunction with Proleit, Endress+Hauser and the Technical University Munich at Weihenstephan.

The brewery demonstrates how combining best-in-class automation and information technology with industry domain expertise can help provide manufacturers with agile solutions capable of dealing with increased numbers of product variations while maintaining superior final product quality.

The company will also showcase industry solutions for digital blending and fluid routing.

Also on display will be Plantpax: the new name for Rockwell process solutions and the next step in helping customers achieve process automation excellence by seamlessly linking together automation, batching, packaging and business-level systems.

The company's stand will also feature MES-level solutions.

Increased customer, business and regulatory demands are challenging beverage companies to ensure product quality and safety and improve regulatory performance.

MES-level solutions at the show will help demonstrate how beverage manufacturers can meet their regulatory, cost, quality and flexibility challenges across the entire production lifecycle to improve their overall operations.

Rockwell will also exhibit a number of machine builder solutions.

With its industry knowledge and network of OEM partners, the company will also be offering visitors its 'Magic Match' service, bringing together beverage companies with the right partners to meet their specific needs.

Finally, Rockwell will demonstrate its Integrated Architecture: the enabling foundation for the company's beverage manufacturing solutions.

This multi-discipline control and information architecture is designed to serve a range of applications.

By leveraging this technology, beverage manufacturers can communicate information to and from all aspects of the plant - from process applications to packaging.
