Mechanical Flostat adjustable flow controller

A Roxspur Measurement and Control product story

The Platon Flostat is an automatic flow control valve that can be used to regulate liquid or gas flow in a line, despite any supply or line pressure variations

The Platon Flostat from Roxspur Measurement and Control is an automatic flow control valve: it regulates gas or liquid flow in a pipeline to a pre-set value, despite the typical line pressure variations that would affect flow through a pre-set control valve adjustment.

The Flostat is a purely mechanical flow controller, no power or external input is needed.

It is therefore suitable for hazardous liquids, and is totally, intrinsically safe.

The flow rate is adjusted using a hand wheel, which can be supplied with an indicator on the larger type FV models.

With a fast response time, the Flostat is ideal for regulating the correct gas flows through laboratory systems where the source supply insufficiently regulated, or from a manifold supplying several different users.

With liquids, the Flostat can overcome the flow variations resulting from changes in tank levels, or from pump performance variations.

Platon Flostats Type MN and Type FV are available with brass or stainless steel body materials.

Type MN units are suitable for the lowest of flow rates, and can be directly coupled to Platon G Series glass tube variable area flowmeters, providing multi-turn control of flow regulation and indication, particularly for laboratory use.

At higher flows, Type FV Flostats are suitable for 0.5'' or 0.75'' line sizes at flows up to 13L/min of liquid, or 400L/min air equivalent at ATP.

Further models and options are available, for example units with calibrated scales, or for higher flow rates in line sizes up to 4''.
