RS Components has signed a co-operative agreement to supply the ABB range of process and automation products within the UK and for export

RS Components has signed a co-operative agreement to supply the ABB range of process and automation products within the UK and for export Many automated plants and facilities across the UK and Europe have grown over time, leading to multiple brands being used in their processes

When a plant has an automation failure or problem it can mean the production line stops, costing large amounts in lost revenue.

Finding one supplier who can support a customer's complete need for automation parts can be extremely challenging.

This is where RS comes in to satisfy the customer's needs by offering a one-stop shop for all their process and automation requirements, with a broad range of technologies and brands, of which ABB is a key partner.

The strengths that ABB brings to RS customers include the ABB excellence in high quality products, offering one of the largest ranges of low voltage products available in the market.

Together the RS and ABB partnership will fulfil the needs of automation customers, enabling them to manage their own plants and processes with maximum productivity and output.

The new agreement is the fruition of two years of planning between the companies, with RS now offering a broad range of ABB products including motors, drives, pushbuttons, safety switches, contactors, interface connectors, switch disconnectors, circuit breakers and process controllers.

RS spokesman, Kevin Thompson, Group General Manager - Product Management said: "We have been working with ABB for some time, as the key brand that completes our brand portfolio for automation".

"We are keen to create a partnership to ensure that together we are the customers' first choice and make sure we deliver the best possible customer value for every order".

James Haigh, General Manager, Low Voltage Control, ABB Automation Technology Products Division, endorsed Thompson's statement, saying: "Signing this agreement enhances the close working relationship that has developed between ABB and RS and provides a framework for its future progress and evolution".

"Together we create a formidable team to provide an unrivalled service for customers in the maintenance, repair and operations sector".
