RTP has upgraded the RTP2500 Critical Control and Safety System and releases Version 7.0 of NetSuite, the comprehensive configuration and data management software package for RTP2500 controllers

Version 7 and the accompanying enhancements to the RTP2500 safety and control engine have recently been certified by TUV for SIL-1 to SIL-3 applications The user will experience improved performance, additional functionality, and increased ease of use when using NetSuite Version 7

Speed Scan times of the enhanced 2500 controller are fixed at 10milliseconds.

During the 10milliseconds, the RTP2500 can solve 500 PID loops and service associated I/O and host communications.

Since the 2500 is certified to allow for safety and control in the same controller, this means that both safety logic and control algorithms will be solved faster.

From a safety standpoint, it means a reaction time of 25 to 32milliseconds.

Faults will be cleared an order of magnitude faster than with conventional safety systems, resulting in less damage or waste.

For control applications, that means closer tolerances and less waste.

All input points are available for Sequence of Events (SOE).

Digital points are accurate to the nearest millisecond; analogue points to 2milliseconds.

Automatically generated tag and diagnostic data significantly reduces the amount of time required to implement an application.

When a 2500 controller is configured, a full page of logic containing all diagnostic data for the system is automatically generated.

As I/O modules are configured, tags are automatically assigned to the I/O points and to diagnostic tags associated with the modules.

When redundant or triplicate I/O is used, voting is done automatically and tags for the resolved data and for voting diagnostics are generated automatically.

An Icon added to the HMI screens in Version 7 monitors all diagnostic tests and alerts the operator should any diagnostic test fail.

A second new Icon tells the operator whenever a tag in the system is in a forced state.

All of this adds up to significant time saving for the user.

With NetSuite 7, RTP introduces the 2500M controller, a single chassis, simplex SIL-2 certified system that can be purchased for under USD10k.

New I/O modules include:.

* 8705/08 SIL-3 Certified Supervised Digital Output.

* 8719/00 Non-Interfering Communications Module with Modbus Serial and Modbus/TCP communications capability.

* 8720/00 SIL-2 Certified Servo Controller Card.

* 8714/00 SIL-2 Certified High Speed Counter Card.

The RTP created State Flowchart language for batch and sequential control has been certified for use in SIL-3 systems.

This further enhances the control capabilities of the RTP2500 and further attests to its ability to do safety and control in the same controller.
