New SABIC cracker to come on-stream in
2007

Air separation plant contract for Air Products
National Industrial Gases Company, Saudi Arabia, has awarded a turnkey contract for the engineering, procurement and construction of an air separation plant to Air Products
The new cracker, which is expected to come on-stream in 2007, will have an annual production capacity of 1.3 million mt.
In addition, other new plants will be constructed with capacities of 800,000 mt/y of polyethylene; 700,000 mt/y of ethylene glycol; and 350,000 mt/y of polypropylene.
The new complex reaffirms the Sabic commitment to grow its core business, and move closer to achieving its vision of becoming one of the world's leading global petrochemical companies.
The announcement was made at the Sabic board meeting held today; chaired by Prince Saud bin Thunayan Al-Saud, Sabic Chairman, and President of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu.
The board reviewed 2003 activities, and discussed plans and budgets for the coming year.
They were pleased with progress in operations, products, marketing, development and technology.
For 2004, the Board has committed to increase capacities; develop the Sabic contribution to the National Development Programme; and enhance the Sabic competitiveness in the global petrochemicals industry.
