In the first two months of 2004 Sandretto UK has achieved a record breaking start with orders for thirty machines and twenty four robots to the value of GBP3.5 Million Managing Director Terry O'Reilly attributes much of the spurt in growth to the growing success of the Sandretto UK integrated machinery and ancillary equipment packages for UK injection moulders

'Not only do we service the largest family of injection moulders in the UK with moulding machinery, we also supply the growing ancillary and automation needs of these customers.

Where customers are satisfied with service - and ours is second to none in the industry - then they prefer to operate a one-stop-shop sourcing policy.

' The trend of new orders has been across the board for the widest variety of market sectors including white goods; electrical appliances; pipe fittings and building products; automotive; housewares; garden ware; point of display as well as the general custom moulding sector.

Over 90% of the Sandretto UK bumper crop has come from existing clients as repeat purchases, demonstrating that whilst market conditions remain difficult there are still a good number of companies who continue to grow and invest for the future.

This excellent start to 2004 in terms of orders follows a 15% growth in Sandretto UK sales for 2003, compared to the previous year which very much bucked the trend as the overall market showed a marked reduction for 2003.

O'Reilly concedes that there may be a resurgence of general confidence in the sector as a whole, but cautions about setting too much by it.

'A recent survey of UK moulders was right to pick up on a qualified note of confidence.

My hope is that this will be sustained throughout the year; that our manufacturers will continue to innovate, be competitive and find new export markets.

On such a basis we can face the future with confidence.'.
