Sandretto UK's range of Green Box chillers and cooling equipment is making inroads into the UK market according to Chris Whitlam, National Sales manager.

'Moulders are increasingly seeking to deploy the external free cooling system option that is linked inside to water cooled chillers adjacent to the moulding machine.

In other words, processors seek a chilling system that doesn't blow hot air around and thus raise the ambient air temperature on the shop floor.

With fear of Legionnaires disease ruling out the cooling tower option, the free cooling system is increasingly the way to go,' says Whitlam.

The Sandretto UK supplied Green Box minibox chillers are leading the way and come in three different versions across a total of eight different models.

The M/T top of the range version can heat the mould from -5 to 90 Celsius and thus serve as a combined mould temperature controller and chiller.

The minibox chillers are compact, taking up minimal floor space with a footprint less than half a square metre.

An increase of range is now available up to 19 -50,000Kcal/hr.

As an option it is possible to have two independent temperatures being applied in order to accommodate different temperature for the fixed and moving half of the mould.

A hermetic scroll compressor makes the chiller an extremely low noise product.

Greenbox also have an extensive range of mould temperature controllers with both direct and indirect cooling options.

The indirect cooling is especially useful for applications with high cooling requirements and high flow rates.

Greenbox maintain that cooling is as important for mould temperature selection as heating.

Whitlam says that 'in fact to maintain the temperature difference between the inlet and outlet of the mould it is vital that this factor be calculated correctly.

Very often on less expensive units the cooling capacity is very low,' he says.

Other features include: Microprocessor accurate temperature control; Automatic water top up; Automatic by-pass between supply and return pipe; Multi stage stainless steel pumps ensure the optimal water flow; Low pressure safety switch.

Whitlam notes that because of Sandretto UK's extremely wide customer-base in injection moulding machines, plastics processors are finding it convenient to shop for the cooling system at the same time as purchasing a new injection moulding machine.
