For liquid gases, Samson valves are in
control
Valve specialists Samson Controls are making an important contribution in helping Air Products achieve the highest levels of control when temperatures are at their lowest
Air Products, an acknowledged worldwide supplier of industrial gases and associated equipment, has chosen Samson Controls as a preferred supplier of cryogenic control valves, for example using the type 3248 control valves on the most demanding cryogenic process applications Collaboration between the Samson offices in the UK with the Air Products fabrication facility in Acrefair in North Wales, led to the further development and modification of these 'standard' Samson valves, which needed to operate on process lines where temperatures are typically as low as minus 198C

Keeping magnets cool to see microscopic structures
Meeting the challenge of controlling very high flow rates, using very high accuracy control of DP, were among the key factors in a recent successful 'cooling' application for Samson Control Valves
Each application is treated by Samson as a special to ensure that the optimum valve is selected for the duty.
For example, the type 3248 control valves have specially long isolating sections to distance the actuator and instrumentation from the very cold media flow and are welded into the pipework to form an integral part of the coldbox.
The modified valves successfully met the Air Products specific requirements and minimised both fabrication time and shipping dimensions.
The less severe applications for Air Products would still represent demanding conditions for most industries, but for these duties Samson supplied the more standard type 241 and 251 series valves.
To date Samson has provided well over 1000 valves for Air Products installations.
