Staubli releases the RBE TM connector

The RBE TM connector has been specifically designed to allow it to be handled by remote control manipulators and is suitable for use in the nuclear industry.

The RBE TM has a square body and ribbed faces for better pincer gripping, a raised push-button for easy disconnection and a front flange that allows the pincer to grasp from behind and provide an effective axial thrust.

The long pre-guiding of the plug into the socket allows easy connection in any position.

The modular design allows several configurations.

The plug or socket can be fixed, the plug can be fitted to either a sealed bulkhead or on a weld nut, shut off can be single or double or totally un-valved and a range of seals are available to suit the gas or fluid involved.

The coupling is available in 6, 8 and 11mm nominal diameter and is suitable for pressures up to 350 bar.

Typical applications in the nuclear industry include waste treatment, decommissioning or any application where remote connection is required.
