Polymer Cluster works for Sirane
The Polymer Cluster reports that its leading client Sirane is set to revolutionise the food packaging market with a new compostable polymer packaging named Resolve
Over 25,000 purchasers and decision makers from the international food and drink industry are expected to visit Chicago during the four days of the show.
To the fore will be the Sirane fully compostable packaging solution - Resolve - and also its range of ovenable 'Roast It' packaging products which have seen unprecedented and recent demand in the USA.
Says Jeremy Haydn-Davies, 'the response to 'Roast It' in the US has been phenomenal, from all over the country.
It's a big part of our reason for being in Chicago this Autumn and with food manufacturers now gearing production to the Christmas season we fully intend to maximise our presence and our opportunities in this market'.
The appeal of the Sirane 'Roast It' is based on it being the first oven-safe absorbent pad for 'direct to oven' packaged foods.
Using aluminium foil and a cellulose absorbent base, 'Roast It' is mechanically bonded using the Sirane specially developed foil crimping method.
The product thus contains no adhesives - which gives it a distinct advantage in use, as well as in disposability and recyclability.
The two main functions of 'Roast It' are to provide effective absorbency for the meat or fish on the shelf and also continuing and effective absorbency of hot liquid fat emitted by the food during the cooking process itself.
'We believe that the American market is now primed and ready for 'Roast It' and willing to adopt it for use - beginning this Christmas,' says Haydn-Davies.
'And as part of our work there we shall also be finding out the scale of total demand and also looking into the possibility of establishing local manufacturing to supply the market there'.
Haydn-Davies expects US food packers, manufacturers and retailers to visit the Sirane stand at Chicago to discuss the company's full range of packaging materials and solutions.
US distributors, agents and other commercial interests are also expected.
Since its foundation in 2003 Sirane turnover has more than doubled through every year.
This year's autumn launch into the US market seems set to help continue the trend.
