New addition to the Sirane team

The premier UK packaging solutions company, Sirane, has appointed Sandra Evans as UK Sales Executive

Sandra joins Jeremy Haydn-Davies, Sirane Sales Director at the forefront of the Sirane marketing and sales effort, and is responsible for all of the Sirane UK clients.

Sandra has already developed product niches for a number of key Sirane products, including the Dri-Fresh Resolve Absorbent Cushioning Fruit Pad and the Ovenable Foil Tray Inserts; the latter are set to enhance the Sirane fastest-growing product lines of 'cook-in' packaging.

Sandra joins Sirane from Polymer Laboratories; she has a degree in Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences and her career experience includes a period of work as a forensic analyst at the Home Office.

Sandra's skills also include teaching as a Blackbelt First Dan Instructor in kickboxing.

'The sport gives a real sense of personal confidence,' she says, 'and the instructional element trains you in 'holding the floor' and working with participants and clients and a general audience'.

Of her new role at Sirane Sandra says, 'there is a real buzz and confidence about the work at Sirane: With the whole of the UK as a territory - and with so many new products to learn - every day provides its fair share of different challenges.

In the sales role at Sirane there is great confidence in being able to say "Yes" to the market - in particular "Yes" to requests for troubleshooting and for new products.

On a number of times a speculative sales call has resulted in a visit to that client the next day with technical and engineering staff in order to provide a solution - and then an order!'.

In addition to the client-based itinerary, Sandra joins Jeremy Haydn-Davies in the general promotional, marketing and exhibition work which this year includes travel to Berlin and organising the Sirane packaging services presence at a number of meat, fish and general food exhibitions.

Product niches for Siraner include the trade marked Dri Fresh and Resolve range of compostable materials as well as a wide variety of solutions for the food packaging, general packaging, healthcare and local authority markets.

Says Sandra, 'we are particularly excited about our great range of cook-in packaging options - in combinations of absorbent, microwaveable, ovenable, etc.

These are currently showing very fast growth - as the products embrace the environmental benefit of packing, shipping, retailing and cooking all in the same pack.

The reduction in processing, cooking and cleaning time also offers clear benefits for busy consumers'.

Sandra adds that 'I am thoroughly enjoying my new job, working alongside a fantastic team that are not only knowledgeable but very supportive.

The variety of work and experience in my own background brings a new and helpful dimension to the overall Sirane team effort'.
