By any standard the commercial growth and success of Sirane has been impressive: the Telford-based business now employs some 90 people and has grown to a GBP7million plus turnover from a standing start in 2003.
The new Sirane factory in Stafford Park, Telford, occupies some 40,000 sq ft and Balderson pledges that 'we are equipping it to the highest possible standards - aiming to make Sirane the safest and most hygienic food packaging company in Europe'.
New equipment is being sourced and new jobs created in order to meet the increasing Sirane order book.
Balderson points out that 'Over 35% of Sirane current sales are now based on products that we weren't making twelve months ago; turnkey sales of our complete packaging production lines are now taking off - particularly in France - and in recent months we have made significant growth in our sales margins.
We are very well hedged in terms of choice of suppliers and currencies and in the next few weeks are about to announce several key and new appointments in both production management and in sales for our healthcare and medical lines'.
All of that, says Balderson, 'Because of the central Sirane commitment to packaging innovation in the service of the client.
Our expansion into this state-of-the-art facility is as much about the needs of the market as ourselves: the international food packaging market continues its appetite for innovation and for the packaging solutions which we provide.
