New generation of thermal mass gas
flowmeters
Schmidt Technology has brought to market a new generation of their well-proven family of air and gas flow sensors, SS 20.60, with very special properties
These properties include a measuring range up to 200 m/s, a turn-down ratio of 1 to 1000, calibration accuracy of 1 % of measuring value, a sensor tip with high media resistance, and availability with an analogue interface or Profibus-DP or Device-Net interface The high precision and extreme turn-down ratio could be achieved due to an improved electronic design and the new and unique Schmidt pressure wind tunnel

Even greater accuracy and stability for chemical/additive dosing applications is now made possible by the new ABB electromagnetic flowmeter FSM4000, with improved ac excitation and signal processing
Extremely low flow conditions are no problem
The Able 1010 Clamp-on ultrasonic flow meters have exceptional low flow measurement and stability capabilities, demonstrated recently by measuring flows of less than 0.25 ft/sec
The modular concept allows to select between an analogue interface or fieldbus interface.
The sensor with fieldbus interface delivers ready prepared measuring values like Kg/hr or m3/min and thus disburdens the supervising PLC.
Additionally the sensor gives access to status information and allows the PLC to inform the user about defects of the sensor.
Despite of the enhanced electronic and additional connectors the size of the sensor remains very compact and makes this sensor to one of the most compact flow sensor on the market.
The new sensor is available from now.
Mian applications anticipated are as follows:.
* Compressed-air consumption measurements.
* Volume flow measurements in nitrogen or other passivation gases.
* Volume flow measurements in process gases.
* Volume flow measurements in test benches.
* Mass-flow control in combustion processes.
* Flow measurements of air injection nozzles.
* Air velocity measurements in dryers or sprayers.
Product advantages:.
* Very high turn-down ratio.
* High calibration accuracy.
* Optionally with fieldbus interface.
