Leading machinery safety manufacturer Schmersal has announced the signing of an exclusive UK agreement to represent Satech, the Italian manufacturer of machine guarding systems.
Making the announcement, Schmersal UK managing director Terry Hayward says: "There is strong business synergy between Satech, who produce one of the most innovative modular machine guarding systems in the world, and Schmersal who manufacture Europe's widest and most innovative range of machine safety components and systems".
He adds that similar agreements are already operating successfully with Schmersal companies in other European countries.
The Satech system is designed to allow a clearer view of the operating environment whilst providing maximum security for machine operators and maintenance personnel.
Panels, which are constructed to make climbing difficult, are available as standard in three heights and seven widths and are finished in black or yellow with other colours and sizes available on request.
The system allows a wide range of openings to be accommodated and is available with an equally wide range of Schmersal safety components to restrict unauthorised access, including door interlocks, safety edge systems and safety stops, and optoelectronics such as light curtains and light barriers.
It complies with all the latest European Safety Standards including EN953, EN292, EN294.
The Satech system can be custom-designed using CAD to suit a particular machine guarding application or working environment.
It is easy to order and is delivered to site in modular form, making it both quick and easy to install.
To coincide with the Satech launch, Schmersal has also introduced what it claims is the most versatile safety door handle system available.
Its new STS range offers six different switches, each with eight different mounting combinations.
It is suitable for all types of safety guards and includes safety switches and solenoid interlocks that can be mounted on the inside or outside of machine guards to allow quick and easy access or exit from a hazardous area in an emergency.
The STS Range complies with European Standards EN1037, IEC/EN60947-5-1, EN1088 and BG-GS-ET-19.
