Secomak bottle dryers at Magners cider
As part of an on-going drive to improve quality, Magners Irish Cider has installed three Secomak Powerstrip bottle drying systems on the bottling lines of its Clonmel factory in Tipperary
Because product appearance and presentation are just as important to Magners as what is inside each bottle, the company has the most stringent requirements for the labelling component of its production process Each label must be perfectly aligned or the bottle will be rejected, causing unnecessary wastage and cost

Powerstrip helps labels stick at Highland Spring
To ensure its distinctive square plastic bottles are properly dried prior to labelling, Highland Spring has installed a Secomak Powerstrip air knife drying system at its Perthshire bottling plant
Commenting on the challenge of the installation, the Secomak Sales Manager David Mayes said: "The cider is bottled cold, which quickly causes condensation to form on the neck and body of the bottles.
This moisture must be completely removed prior to labelling or the labels can easily slip out of alignment and water can collect under the foil wrap around the neck, presenting possible hygiene concerns to customers".
The Powerstrip bottle dryers are therefore located immediately prior to the high speed labelling machines.

Process drying specialist Secomak has developed a new intelligent 'supply on demand' control unit for use with compressed air systems
They ensure complete, streak-free drying at a speed of 68,000 bottles per hour.
"The Secomak bottle dryers have had an immediate effect of quality," said Magners Quality Assurance Manager Pail O'Sullivan: "They allow us to reach very high bottling and labelling speeds with complete confidence.
They also give our customers the added peace of mind that the bottle necks are dry under the foil wrapping".
The Powerstrip is a fully modular drying system that that allows a range of drying modules to be combined as a single drying solution for virtually any conveyor-based production process.
It utilises a variety of technologies including blower-driven air knives, induced vacuum and suction components, compressed air micro nozzles, as well as state-of-the-art control systems.
These technologies can be 'mixed and matched' as required or supplied as simple, stand alone units.
Secomak has been the industry leader in air movement technologies for over 80 years.
In this time it has developed a range of application-specific equipment to cater for the needs of every industry, from high performance container drying solutions for the food and beverage industries to heat-shrinking equipment for the packaging industry.
With the recent launch of its Beckair subsidiary, the company now offers an even wider range of drying and cleaning technologies.
The company is always pleased to demonstrate its products, either at its Elstree headquarters or at a customer's premises.
