Aseptic packaging involves filling a sterilised package with a sterile food product within the confines of a hygienic environment.
Filled aseptic packages are sealed tight, rendering a packaged product capable of being stored over long periods of time - at normal room temperatures and without preservatives.
The main feature of the Combo Aseptic is that it uses the unique Combo folding plastic IBC as its outer packaging and an aseptic plastic liner bag as its inner packaging.
With a capacity of 1000 litres, the liner bag includes an integral filling and discharge valve that ensures aseptic integrity.
The liner and valves are gamma-irradiated to ensure a sterile product fill.
The aseptic system means no corrosion, insects or infestation being carried by the container or it's filling and discharging mechanism.
With Combo being made from food quality plastic it adds to the security of the system.
Easily foldable and stackable Combo also makes the distribution system more efficient when compared to the traditional stainless steel IBC.
Combo can be fully recycled, so it plays its part in protecting the environment, and its durable and robust design will give it a long life and low maintenance costs.
Filled containers can be stacked and empty ones folded to conserve space - this saves transport and storage costs.
These savings are amplified because Combo Aseptic requires little cleaning or maintenance, due to the disposable liner bag.
The Combo Aseptic is part of the unique Combo folding pallet box range that includes 250, 1020 and 1060 litre versions.
All versions are available with the aseptic system.
In the UK, the Combo range, including the new aseptic, is available to hire from Schoeller Arca Systems' authorised reseller; Arlington Packaging.
The Pewsey based company is the first rental company to be able to offer this unique product.
