Sanderson helps Mother Meg's biscuits into the UK

A Sanderson product story
Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Dec 5, 2007

Sanderson, provider of software solutions for the food and process industries, will supply its Formul8 solution to premium biscuits, cakes and puddings manufacturer Mother Meg's Fine Foods

Based in Queensland, Australia, Mother Meg's is an established supplier of premium baked goods to department stores, independent retailers and airlines.

A recent expansion into the UK market fuelled the requirement for a more sophisticated IT system to manage the growth of the business.

Mother Meg's recognised the benefits of implementing a specialist food processing solution rather than a generic ERP solution to support their growing business.

With the Sanderson knowledge and experience, Formul8 from Sanderson was the natural choice.

The system encompasses a rigorous stock control system which will allow for more efficient production planning at Mother Meg's, whilst a recipe costings module will help ensure new recipes are commercially viable and assist in calculating sale prices.

Ben Baker, Managing Director at Mother Meg's explains: "We wanted an IT solution that would integrate our business processes, both in the office and on the factory floor.

It was important that we found a supplier who understood our business, and a system capable of supporting our growth plans.

Sanderson will help us meet these objectives".

Mark Lofthouse, Product Manager for Sanderson Australia concluded: "We're pleased to supply a Sanderson solution to Mother Meg's who are one of many smaller food manufacturers who are recognising and addressing the need for more sophisticated IT systems.

This dedicated food solution will provide a host of benefits to the business, as well as supporting growth".

Founded in 1992 by Kay Wormwell, Mother Meg's is named after her grandmother whose famous baking inspired many of their unique and traditional recipes.

Today, Ben and Kate Baker, who own and operate Mother Meg's, maintains its loyalty to Kay's family recipes, using traditional baking techniques and premium Australian ingredients to ensure every biscuit, cake and pudding is a taste sensation.
