Rotoform high capacity plant for fat
chemicals
Sandvik Process Systems has supplied and commissioned a fatty acid plant with a granulation system production capacity of more than 3 tonnes/hour - a capacity that has never been reached before
Sandvik Process Systems, supplier of high performance pastillation systems for chemical and food products, has recently supplied and commissioned a plant for fatty acid with a production capacity of more than 3 tonnes/hour - a capacity that has never been reached before on granulation systems for this type of product Supplied to a leading manufacturer of fat chemicals in India, Sandvik is claiming that the performance of the new plant beats all other competing systems in the market from a technical, operating and economic viewpoint

A large number of fat chemical producers around the world are benefiting from the Rotoform process, including leading manufacturers in Europe, India, Japan, China and Malaysia.
This achievement is the result of steady development of the Rotoform process and equipment of which more than 1300 are in operation with almost 10% having been supplied for the pastillation of fat chemicals.
The chemicals from fatty acid, fatty alcohol, fatty amines, polyethylenglycol, fatty soap and stearate are used as detergents, rubber additives, lubricants, surfactants, food additives, cosmetics and pharmaceutical intermediates.
The development of the solidification process for fat chemicals started with the flaking process, for which Sandvik also supplied a large number of installations, but because of its significant advantages, pastillation has become the standard process.
The development of the Rotoform system encouraged the industry to switch over to pastilles production, because of the many advantages of this product shape.
Pastilles are free from dust, are uniform in size and easy to handle for subsequent processes.
The Rotoform process, which is a combination of the Rotoform dropforming equipment and a steel belt cooler, is extremely efficient, flexible and environmentally friendly.
The steel belt operates independently so that neither the product nor the cooling media - water - can be contaminated.
The flexibility of the system means that a switch over from one product to another, which is frequently required in this industry, can be undertaken quickly and at short notice.
