High speed Sulphur Pastillation on show
in Iran
Sandvik will use this year's International Exhibition of Oil, Gas, and Petrochemical Industries and Products in Tehran, to present project solutions for pastillation, and sulphur in particular
Since developing the Rotoform pastillation process in the early 1980s, Sandvik has supplied more than 1400 units to customers across the world, for the chemical, food and oil and gas industries While applications range from waxes and resins to chocolate, almost 30 percent are used for the pastillation of sulphur

More success for coffee freezing systems
An order for a complete coffee freezing conveyor for a new customer in India has further increased the Sandvik Process System penetration into the Asian market
Recognising the growing need for higher sulphur solidification capacities in refineries, Sandvik Process Systems made a significant breakthrough in 2005, with the development of the Rotoform HS system, a high-capacity version of the standard Rotoform offering double the throughput - plus a range of additional benefits, including easier and more economical servicing.
Today, the Rotoform HS system offers a solidification rate of 300 MT/day of sulphur pastilles.
While throughput capacity is substantially higher than the standard Rotoform, the basic principle remains the same.

New high capacity pastillation system
Sandvik Process Systems has launched the new Rotoform HS pastillation system, a model capable of delivering twice the output of the standard Rotoform and with enhanced service and safety features
A depositor - the Rotoformer itself - feeds precisely dosed droplets of the molten product onto a continuously running steel belt, which is cooled from the underside by water, sprayed through nozzles.
The heat from the molten drops is transferred to the cooling water via the steel belt and by the time they reach the discharge end of the line they have been transformed into solid pastilles.
This process delivers a uniform, premium-quality end product (to SUDIC specification) with free flowing, dust free characteristics plus low residual H2S and water content - ideal for subsequent handling, storage and transportation.
It is also highly efficient, with the indirect heat transfer ensuring no contact between product and cooling media and delivering well defined cooling times for controlled crystallisation.
Another key benefit of the Rotoform system is its environmentally-friendly operation, with minimal air extraction required and that which does pass through the exhaust fulfilling all usual emission standards without any treatment.
The Sandvik experience in projects is considerable.
Recognising that oil and gas customers and EPC companies will often sub-contract turn-key packages, the company has the expertise to undertake end-to-end project management, from feasibility studies and FEED up to complete EPC packages.
And, as part of a high-technology engineering group operating in more than 130 countries and with annual sales in excess of USD10billion, Sandvik has the infrastructure to provide round-the-clock service and support anywhere in the world.
