European launch of Shanklin wrapper

This years PPMA show in September is set to host the European launch of a newly designed, top of the range Shanklin form, fill and seal machine from Omni

Manufactured and distributed by Sealed Air, the Omni wrapper redefines traditional shrink packaging equipment Innovative new features like the plug-and-play in-feed modules, which can be changed over in as little as three minutes, are unique to Omni and will maximise production efficiency

Complete with servo motion-control technology that instantly recognises a new in-feed, Omni can be used to pack almost any application in the food, industrial, and consumer sectors.

Also taking a prominent position on stand 12211 is the Sealed Air pioneering pallet management system.

Manufactured by Mondo and Scaglione, the pallet de-staking system is the first of its kind and aims to manage the storage and stacking of pallets in the warehouse.

Normally pallets are stacked on top of each other, scattered around, and often look unsafe, but the pallet de-stacker deposits them directly onto the floor beneath the stack and then pushes it out of the magazine ready for use.

Sealed Air will also be using the show to introduce the new Pfankuch 450 sealing machine into the UK flexible packing sector.

It comes complete with a permanently heated sealing jaw and a special tunnel that equalises air from the top and bottom.

Making its debut at PPMA is the low cost, entry level, automatic L-sealer from Sealed Air - the Opti 4500.

With speeds up to 35 packages per minute, Opti 4500 is an efficient, dependable system designed for high-speed applications such as CDs, DVDs, video games and tapes.

Group operations manager Sealed Air (Bradford), Mr Colin Lovering, commented on the Omni launch: "The Omni will take the central position on the stand this year, and will be formally unveiled on Tuesday morning.

It will be the first time anyone outside the Sealed Air Corporation sets eyes on the system and I'm looking forward to seeing the reaction of visitors".

An innovative and revolutionary new form of resealable packaging will also be displayed on the Sealed Air stand.

The 'easy open' bags have a built-in recloseable feature using pressure sensitive tape to create an easy-open, easy-close package.

It provides product containment and protection, and has been proved to be easier to use than zips.

Sealed Air believes that 'easy open' is a revolutionary product that will be of great interest to those involved in the bakery, fresh produce and pharmaceutical sectors.

Mr Lovering summarised: "We are developing the Shanklin brand across Europe and we want the Omni to demonstrate that Sealed Air continues to innovate, that the equipment is built locally and that customers are dealing direct with local Shanklin/Sealed Air specialists".

In addition to the Sealed Air equipment, a wide range of product literature will also be available for all visitors to the stand. Request a free brochure from Sealed Air ...
