Exciting changes are taking place at Bradford-based Sealed Air Shrink Packaging, following a move to new bespoke premises with a permanent equipment and films exhibition centre

Exciting changes are taking place at Bradford-based Sealed Air Shrink Packaging for UK and Ireland, following a move to new bespoke premises The aim of the new facility, based off Cutler Heights Lane, Bradford, will be to provide UK customers with a permanent equipment and films exhibition centre for presentation packaging

The new facilities include a training room, showroom, offices, workshop, spares and service centre, and a product holding warehouse.

A key part of the new operation will be to provide new and existing customers with a product based solution.

Customers will be encouraged to visit the new premises with their products in order for a dedicated Sealed Air specialist to identify the appropriate packaging solution.

The overall Sealed Air objective is to provide a 'one-stop' solution for companies needing packaging support.

To facilitate this, the sales team have been paired together into a number of regional teams, comprising a machine and film specialist.

An extensive showroom will display both machines and films.

These will include Shanklin packaging machines (such as the Omni wrapper) for DIY items, durables - including household items - cosmetic healthcare, software, games, jigsaw puzzles, confectionery, fresh produce and cans.

Some of the Shanklin machines are capable of speeds of up to 300 packs per minute, depending on the item being wrapped.

Other machines that will be permanently exhibited are likely to include Opti L-sealers, Pfankuch leaflet feeders and Mondo and Scaglione case sealing and pallet de-stacking equipment along with related periphery equipment.

Complementary films will also be on show for customers to inspect including Cryovac Adapt shrink film, Sealed Air Primoflex BOPP film range along with Sealstrip Easy Open Reseal bag solutions.

The new operation also includes a dedicated after sales and service team that can respond quickly to customer needs.

The team are backed by a large stock of spares and a service centre, in order to provide customers with a seamless support service.

In addition to completing pre-delivery inspections the technical team will also provide on-going support to existing installations and can, if required, even help with the relocation of existing machinery to new overseas sites.

The Sealed Air technical team can also offer a small number of high standard reconditioned packaging machines, all with an after sales warranty.

Operations manager for Sealed Air UK shrink packaging, Colin Lovering says: "The new building, will on completion provide customers with a single source packaging solution for all their needs.
