Stem drive solves paper sludge mixing
problem
Stem Drive has just completed a demonstration project of its patented, non-blocking, air mixing system for maintaining solids in suspension for Tullis Russell Papermakers at Markinch
Stem Drive has just completed a demonstration project of its patented, non-blocking, air mixing system for maintaining solids in suspension for Tullis Russell Papermakers at Markinch The existing side entry agitator in their effluent balance tank had 'roped up', resulting in a total failure of the agitator, rendering it unusable
Due to the inadequate mixing a considerable build up of paper sludge was evident.
The contents of the balance tank are now being adequately mixed by a temporary mobile unit installed "on the run".
The unit has prevented solids deposition on the base of the tank and ensured a consistent and homogeneous influent feed to the effluent treatment plant.
