The new SCX embedded controller is now available
The SCXe is a revolutionary new type of process controller, combining the functionality of a PLC, SCADA MMI and the remote communications facilities normally provided by an Outstation or RTU
AGA12 provides framework and technical standards for protecting remote communications to critical infrastructure equipment through encryption and authorisation.
The development of the first parts of the AGA12 standard was a joint effort by a number of groups including the American Gas Association, Gas Technology Institute and Cisco System's Critical Infrastructure Assurance Group .
"The AGA12 standard suite provides a long awaited complement to existing SCADA communication standards.
The involvement of utility groups, SCADA industry organizations and US government groups, such as NIST and Sandia National Labs, in the development of the AGA12 standard gives operators and owners confidence in the use of the standard for critical infrastructure protection", says Philip Aubin, the Serck Controls Research and Development Manager.
" Rather than requiring a revolution in SCADA technology to provide secure communications, AGA12 provides an evolutionary step allowing critical infrastructure SCADA users to leverage their existing technology investment while providing a high level of communication security.
Serck Controls recent product releases add AGA12 security facilities to existing and new SCADA master station and outstation equipment alike.
Serck Controls' integration of AGA12 with the mature communication standards such as DNP3 and MODBUS combine the best advantages of both open standard systems and security.
Serck is committed to enhancing the security capabilities for its Master Station and Outstation/RTU products as further international standards are released.".
