On-site sodium hypochlorite generating
system
Two ClorTec on-site sodium hypochlorite generating systems have been selected by Response Engineering for installation at the Dublin Corporation Saggart Wastewater Treatment Works
Response Engineering, one of the leading Irish water and wastewater treatment companies, selected two ClorTec CT-300 units, each of which is capable of generating 135 kilograms (300 pounds) per day of chlorine equivalent Severn Trent Services has pioneered the application of on-site sodium hypochlorite generation since 1988, and have now installed more than 3,000 systems worldwide

On-site generation is a cost effective, reliable and economical disinfection method.
The ClorTec systems range from 2.7 to 1,360+ kg/day or 6 to 3,000+ lb/day, generating a 0.8 percent sodium hypochlorite solution by combining three common consumables - salt, water and electricity - to produce a chlorine equivalent.
Since the ClorTec units produce sodium hypochlorite on demand, the technology alleviates the problem of chlorate by-product generation that typically results from the storage of bulk sodium hypochlorite.
The system also eliminates the potential risk of transporting chlorine gas as well as storing it at the plant site.
Response Engineering is primarily involved in the provision of water and environmental services in Ireland for both public and private sector clients.
Response offers customers a wide range of turnkey solutions for the water industry based on its track record in the design, construction and operation of treatment plants.
