Solution for valve fugitive emissions control
Severn Glocon has developed an innovative solution for positive valve stem gland security, enabling changes in performance to be safely monitored during the service life of the valve
To-date, two batches of Severn Glocon Series 5000 valves have been ordered for Trains 3 and 4 at the Ras Laffan Gas Company onshore LNG expansion programme in Qatar.
Valve types encompass 8, 12 and 16 inch globe designs and 16 x 24 inch angle valves, pressure rated at ANSI Class 300 and 600.
Manufactured from stainless or low carbon steels to suit a range of duties including cryogenic service, the majority of the valves are designed with Severn Glocon high technology multi-labyrinth trims (MLT) to handle exceptionally high flow rates and pressure drops.
Proven in many offshore and onshore severe service applications, the MLT design can allow a single valve to cope with demanding duties that are beyond the scope of traditional cage-type control valve trims.
Severn Glocon experience and technical ability in this area made an important contribution to securing the Ras Laffan orders in the face of keen international competition.
All the valves for Ras Laffan are being built and packaged with pneumatic actuators, side mounted handwheels and HART compatible Siemens PS2 positioners at Severn Glocon UK head office and factory in Gloucester.
